New Venture – BHiveLabs

So a just before Christmas I was talking to a friend of mine (mahblog.uk), and we were both thinking that it would be a great idea to make a open source lab equipment, and that most of the things we use in the lab could be easily 3d printed. This then as all such conversations ended up with us both deciding that getting a printer between us would be a great idea before we left the pub.

Now unlike most ideas born in the pub, this one wasn’t instantly forgotten about. A few weeks later we had in-fact bought ourselves a 3d printer and installed it in an attic room. So for the last few weeks I have been using my spare time to design things for use in labs using OpenSCAD, and printing them off to test. Finally over the weekend we set up a website to document what we are doing, and any bits of lab equipment or general 3d printing that we do.
